Monica Lynn Brodovsky, MSW
Hello, it is so nice to meet you! I’m Monica Lynn Brodovsky (She/Her) - a kind, empathetic, queer, and highly sensitive human who loves building deep connections. I wear many hats: graphic designer, former art educator, photographer, author, and now, social worker. My journey began with a BFA in Graphic & Interactive Design from Temple University's Tyler School of Art. Over the years, I applied my skills in various roles, from running a graphic design and photography business to teaching illustration and design as an adjunct professor.
My volunteer work with Capturing Hopes Photography and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep involved providing compassionate photography services to families in the NICU and those grieving the loss of a stillborn baby. These experiences, along with writing "The One in Eight: Faces of Infertility," profoundly shaped my career path.
Inspired by these experiences, I pursued a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. I focused on clinical social work with children and families in pediatric settings, with a keen interest in palliative care. As a social work intern at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, I conducted psychosocial assessments, provided emotional support, assisted families during crises, and connected them to vital resources.
My diverse background in art allows me to approach my career with a unique perspective as I integrate creativity, a strength-based approach, and empathy to support the children and families I work with. I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those I serve, fostering resilience and healing through compassionate and culturally competent care.
